What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is a human-readable address used on computers (e.g., as part of a website URL or email address) to locate an IP address via the domain name system (DNS). It is the name registered by a website owner and is sometimes referred to as a "website address".
What is a Subdomain?
A subdomain is a subdivision under the main domain name system used on the internet. For example, "mail.example.com" and "blog.example.com" are subdomains of "example.com", which itself is under the top-level domain “.com”.
On the Cookie Wow system, the domain name is used to configure and manage the cookie banner. If the domain name you use on your website does not match the one you entered into the Cookie Wow system, the cookie banner may not function properly.
You can use the cookie banner from one domain on its subdomains, provided that the domain name is exactly the same.
If you wish to collect consent and manage cookie settings separately for each subdomain, you can add a new domain name through the Cookie Wow platform. Please note that adding a new domain will count as an additional domain under your selected plan.
