Types of Consent Models
Types of Consent Models
Cookie Wow offers three types of consent models, which determine how cookies are activated in compliance with privacy laws:
Opt-in
In the Opt-in model, all cookies are disabled by default.
Even if the user initially clicks to accept all cookies, those within this model will not activate unless the user explicitly confirms their consent. This may involve checking a box or manually enabling specific cookie categories.
Opt-out
In the Opt-out model, cookies are enabled and functional by default.
When the user clicks "accept", cookies are already active. However, the user still has the option to decline and deactivate specific cookies before giving general consent.
Notice-only
In the Notice-only model, the system simply notifies the user about cookie usage.
Cookies within this category are set to “always active” by default and cannot be disabled by the user.
Tip:
Laws related to data protection (such as PDPA, GDPR, etc.) differ across countries.
Therefore, the website owner is responsible for ensuring that users are properly informed about which personal data is being collected.
We strongly recommend verifying whether your selected consent model complies with the legal requirements in your country.
Cookie Wow is not liable for any damages resulting from the incorrect selection or use of a consent model that does not comply with applicable laws.
